WhatsApp Business

Send approved updates to customers who agreed to hear from you, through the official WhatsApp Business Cloud API.

What you can publish

  • Broadcast messages to opted-in contacts, sent as WhatsApp message templates
  • One photo (JPEG up to 5 MB) or video (MP4 up to 16 MB) above a broadcast's text

Writing and editing

  • Friendly, brief messages with one clear call to action and no hashtags
  • Each approved message is submitted to Meta as a template early, so it is ready when it is due
  • A live chat-bubble preview, with a warning when the text is over WhatsApp's limit

After it goes out

  • People who reply STOP are opted out automatically and never messaged again
  • Each send records who received it and who could not be reached
  • Messages customers send to your number arrive in the inbox, and your team replies within WhatsApp's 24-hour window

Not in Brand Autopilot yet

  • Documents in broadcast messages
  • AI replies to chats; a person answers each one

Rules set by WhatsApp

  • Only people who opted in can be messaged
  • Status and Channels can't be posted to; Meta offers no API for them
  • Meta must approve each message template, which can take time

Connecting

How the account is connected

Connected with your own WhatsApp Business account through Meta. You add contacts with a record of each person's opt-in.

Every post is approved by a person before it is sent, and you can disconnect the account in Channels at any time, which deletes its stored tokens. See Security and Data deletion.
