TikTok

Short videos and photo posts straight to TikTok, with every setting TikTok asks creators to choose made clearly before posting.

What you can publish

  • Video posts through TikTok's Direct Post API
  • Photo posts of up to 35 photos, which people swipe through

Writing and editing

  • Captions with a hook in the first few words, a casual tone and 3 to 5 hashtags
  • Trim a video, fit it to TikTok's vertical shape and add a watermark in the browser
  • Before posting, the person chooses who can see it and whether comments, duets and stitches are allowed
  • Promotional and branded content is disclosed when you say a post is one, as TikTok requires

After it goes out

  • Views and engagement are read back for 30 days after posting

Rules set by TikTok

  • Every post needs a video or photos; TikTok has no text-only posts
  • TikTok requires the poster to choose who can see each post and to disclose promotional content
  • TikTok fetches photos from an address it has verified for the app, so photo posts need that one-time setup on the server
  • TikTok offers no API for apps like this one to read or answer comments, so they stay in the TikTok app

Connecting

How the account is connected

Connected with TikTok's own sign-in. Its short-lived tokens are renewed and sealed automatically.

Every post is approved by a person before it is sent, and you can disconnect the account in Channels at any time, which deletes its stored tokens. See Security and Data deletion.
